San Angelo Police Set Up Crime Scene After Child Dies

 

Police have cordoned off a crime scene in the River Bend Estates since 1 p.m. today. An ambulance was escorted by police to Shannon Medical Center from the scene of the incident at about the same time. Three unofficial sources have told LIVE! that a child has died.

So far into the investigation, police aren’t talking, except in general terms. Police confirmed that they were called to a residence on Danube Road in south San Angelo for an unresponsive child.

This is a breaking story. We will have more when officials release more information.

Update 8:37 p.m.

Police released the following information:

The San Angelo Police Department is investigating the death of an 11-month old infant who passed away this afternoon in South San Angelo.

At about 1:50 p.m., San Angelo Police and Fire Department personnel responded to a residence at the River Bend Estates located in the 4400 block of River Bend for the report of an unconscious infant.  

First responders located the male infant, began life saving measures, and transported him to Shannon Medical Center by ambulance where he died a short time later.

The Criminal Investigations Division and Crime Scene Unit responded to investigate the circumstances leading up to the child’s death.  At this time, the cause of death is undetermined and officials have ordered an autopsy.  The child’s name is not being released.

This investigation is ongoing and no other details are being released at this time.

i have family that live in that same trailer park and from what they were told was that the 11 month old child had been left in a car for an hour and a half but i havent heard any updates from the press about it.
