Wrong Way Mercedes Driver Kills 2 in Head-On Crash

 

SNYDER, TX – Two drivers were killed in a head-on crash north of Snyder, TX Monday when the driver of a Mercedes SUV was traveling the wrong way on US-84.  

According to DPS reports, a 2020 Mercedes G-class SUV driven by Thi Yen Ngoc Nguyen, 30, of Woodway, Texas was northbound in the southbound lanes of US-84 about 6 miles north of Snyder around 8:30 p.m. Monday.  At the same time, a 2008 Nissan Altima driven by Victor Manuel Rodriguez Mendez, 45, of Post, Texas was southbound.  

The preliminary report states the Mercedes struck the Nissan head-on at 75 mph. 

Nguyen was transported to the hospital by ambulance where she was pronounced dead.  

Mendez died at the scene.
