Bike Passenger Not Wearing a Helmet Killed in Crash Near Roscoe

ROSCOE, TX – A motorcycle passenger not wearing a helmet was killed in a crash in I-20 about 2 miles east of Roscoe Sunday.

According to information released by Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Marc Couch in Abilene, 38-year-old Levi Shane Biggs of Sweetwater was eastbound in the right lane on I-20 1.7 miles east of Roscoe.  His Yahama FZ6 sport motorcycle was in a curve being passed by a truck tractor towing a semi-trailer.  24-year-old Alexis Faith Biggs was the passenger on the bike.

The investigation indicates the passing truck returned to the right lane too soon after passing the bike.  The motorcyclist steered onto the shoulder to avoid being hit.  The passenger was thrown from the bike.  Alexis Biggs was not wearing a helmet and died in the crash.

Levi Biggs was treated for non-incapacitating injuries and released. He was not wearing a helmet.

Authorities were unable to find the driver of the big rig.
