Pickup Driver Not Wearing Seatbelt Killed in Crash

 

ALBANY, TX – An Albany man was killed in a one vehicle crash in Shackelford County last week after he allegedly lost control of his truck.  

According to Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Marc Couch, 36-year-old Justin Palmer Rodriguez of Albany was traveling north on State Highway 6 about six miles south of Albany approaching a curve around 9 p.m. on April 20, 2023.  

Albany is about 30 miles northeast of Abilene. 

Rodriguez's 1997 Ford F350 veered on the right side of the roadway and he over corrected steering back to the left.  His truck left the left side of the roadway and overturned. 

Rodriguez was not wearing a seatbelt and died because of injuries sustained in the crash.  

He was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:07 p.m. by Justice of Peace John Viertel.
