WATCH: Worker Injured in Freak Accident at Tire Shop

SAN ANGELO – San Angelo Police and Firefighters were dispatched to an automotive shop downtown Monday afternoon for the call of a person injured when a pickup rolled off a ramp and out into the street.

According to emergency communications, first responders were dispatched to the Firestone Auto Centre on Concho Ave. at Irving St. around 2:30 p.m. Monday.  The dispatcher said an 'F350' fell off a lift and injured the 'victim.'

Video from the scene show EMTs loading an individual onto a stretcher and into an awaiting ambulance.

The ambulance left the scene with the patient inside.

A San Angelo Police Officer who was on the scene said it was a 'freak accident' and Firestone would do its own internal investigation and the SAPD were just on the scene to assist.

The officer said the F350 apparently rolled off a ramp and out into the street.  He said witnesses said they didn't see what happened but it appears the vehicle rolled off the ramp over the victim and out into the street.  All they reported seeing was the pickup rolling and the worker injured on the ground.
