Man Suffers Severe Burns in Northside RV Fire

 

SAN ANGELO, TX --Just after 9:30 p.m. SAPD and San Angelo Firefighters were dispatched to the 1200 block of Koberlin St. for reports of a structure fire.

According to the initial scanner reports, the RV was fully engulfed and a male had suffered severe burns as a result of the fire.

The condition of the male patient is unknown at this time but he was transported to Shannon Medical Center for treatment.

According to Batallion Chief Jay Neely once firefighters arrived on scene they could see heavy smoke, but the fire was under control in less than five minutes.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Fire Marshal's office, but Chief Neely confirmed the RV is considered a total loss.

The occupant of the RV is the owner of a dog, but according to Neely, the dog was not injured as he was outside the RV when the fire began.
