Vehicle Catches on Fire Before Crossing Rail Road Tracks on N Bell

 

SAN ANGELO, TEXAS -- This evening, San Angelo Police Department (SAPD) officers responded to a vehicle fire on North Bell St. near the railroad tracks. 

Officer Salmon with the SAPD said the driver was traveling southbound when they noticed the smell of burnt wire just before crossing the rail road tracks in front of them.

"It was a mechanical fire," officer Salmon said.

There were two occupants in the vehicle, and neither sustained injuries from the fire. The San Angelo Fire Department also responded to assist with the fire. 

The Fire Marshall's are currently investigating the fire. LIVE! will provide an update should more information become available.
