Ford Driver Disregards Red Light - Rams Into Passenger Car Carrying Children

SAN ANGELO, TX - For some time this evening, San Angelo Police had to divert traffic in the 2900 block of N. Bryant after one driver disregarded a red light, struck a passenger vehicle, and caused injury to two children. The children were rushed to Shannon Medical Center.

SAPD Officer Wasson said the investigation revealed that the driver of a gray Ford F-150 was traveling southbound in the area. Witnesses said the driver disregarded a red light, went through the intersection, and struck a black passenger car.

"Occupants of the passenger car were transported to Shannon," said Officer Wasson.

The occupants Officer Wasson referred to are two children, approximately 7 and 10 years of age. He said he's not sure of their condition, but their injuries do not appear to be life threatening. The driver and the passenger, however, are okay, the officer noted.

Officer Wasson said multiple citations were issued to both parties. The driver of the Ford was issued a citation for disregarding the red light and a driver's license violation. The driver of the black passenger car was cited for no driver's license, and other charges are pending.
