Three People Head to Shannon After Fail-to-Yield Crash

SAN ANGELO, TX - In addition to fire filling the air this evening, a major crash on Sunset and Sherwood Way kept local law enforcement and first responders scrambling just after 7 p.m.

San Angelo Police Office Younts said the driver of a white Ford pickup was traveling eastbound on Sherwood Way. Two witnesses said he was attempting to turn left onto Sunset. He had a flashing yellow arrow, but failed to yield the right of way to the vehicles traveling westbound on Sherwood Way.

"First, the blue F-150 struck the white F-150 around the front passenger door to the passenger quarter on the right side of the white vehicle," said Officer Younts. "The white passenger car, the Chrysler 200, was also westbound on Sherwood Way, and as the white truck came across after already being hit from the blue truck, the white car also impacted the white truck near the same area, probably a little bit closer to the front of the truck."

Officer Younts said both the driver and the passenger of the white Chrysler 200 went to Shannon Medical Center with unknown injuries, and the driver of the blue F-150 also went to Shannon with shoulder pain, unknown severity. No one was injured in the white F-150.

As for citations, Officer Younts said those are pending. However, the driver of the white F-150 is definitely going to be cited for failure to yield the right of way. All people involved wore their seat belts at the time of the crash.
