According to San Angelo Police Officer Jonathan Welch, “[the black sedan] was coming northbound on Glenna,” and, “from the evidence we have, it ran the red light and collided with the tan SUV that was crossing the loop.” Due to the impact “the [black sedan] then spun around and hit a third car that was parked at the light.” Officer Welch further stated, “There was one kid in the pickup who was parked at the light, but no injuries or anything like that.”

The only occupant of the black sedan, the driver, was transported to Shannon Medical Center with unknown injuries. Officer Welch stated that he would need to go to the hospital and gather further information.

The crash did block traffic for a short period of time.

“We blocked the whole 700 block of Glenna off on the loop, so there was no through traffic anywhere” added Officer Welch. The eastbound entrance and exit ramp onto the loop remained open.
