Two Killed in One-Vehicle Eastland County Crash

EASTLAND COUNTY, TX - At about 2:32 a.m. Saturday morning, two Eastland County residents died after the driver lost control of her vehicle.

Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) officials said the driver of a 2000 Chevrolet Malibu, Rose Loree Alexander, 30 was traveling eastbound on IH-20 where it veered into the center median. The vehicle struck the guardrail extruder and went airborne. It then struck a concrete bridge support killing both Alexander and her passenger, Brandon Joshua Steele, 25. They were pronounced dead at the scene, and their bodies taken to Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland.

DPS said the driver wore her seat belt, but the passenger did not at the time of the crash, and the posted speed limit in the area is 75 mph. The road and weather conditions were dry.

The crash is under investigation.
