Unlicensed Driver Slams into Mustang, Takes Out Street Sign and Lands in Front of House

SAN ANGELO, TX – An unlicensed female driver of a Cadillac who failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign collided with a red Ford Mustang this afternoon in the 700 block of W. 19th Street. The driver then took out a street sign, drove through the yard of a residence and hit the front of the house.

San Angelo Police Officer Palmer said the driver of the Cadillac was traveling northbound and the red Mustang was heading westbound on 19th St in the outside lane just before 2:30 p.m.

“The lady in the Cadillac said she stopped, looked both ways, came out of the roadway and did not see [the Mustang],” said Palmer.

The driver of the Mustang, however, said the Cadillac never stopped.

After the initial impact, the Cadillac took out the street sign and went through the front yard of the residence, coming to a stop at the front of the house.

“The driver of the Cadillac was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, and she’s not licensed,” added Palmer.

The driver of the red Mustang was transported to Shannon Medical Center for treatment.
