61-Year-Old Dies After Losing Control of Vehicle on Wet Roadway

A 61-year-old man, Jack C. Price, died in a one-vehicle crash yesterday morning on SH70, about six miles north of Rotan in Fisher County.

According to DPS, Price was traveling in a 2014 International Work Star truck south on SH70 under rainy and wet road conditions. While in a curve, the 61-year-old was unable to negotiate it safely as the vehicle went into a skid. The truck went off road to the west side and into the barrow ditch, which caused the vehicle to roll over several times into a field.

Evidence at the scene indicated Price was not wearing a seat belt, said DPS. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body was taken to Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home in Rotan.

The crash is currently under investigation.
