Drug Charges Account for Majority of Jail Bookings Sunday

The Tom Green County Jail population grew by five on Sunday, when 28 new inmates were booked and 23 were released.

Drug-related charges proved to be most popular Sunday, five having been arrested for marijuana possession, four for possession of other drugs and one for possession of dangerous drugs. DWI and PI were relatively low, accounting for two and three arrests, respectively, and there was one aggravated assault and two other assault charges.
