Theft and Poor Driving Skills Lead to Monday Arrests

Monday was a good day for cops, bad day for criminals as 45 listed incidents resulted in 27 city and county arrests.

Theft/burglary and poor driving skills topped the charts for bookings on Monday, with some 10 suspects booked for at least one driving-related violation and another seven for theft or burglary. The SAPD’s calls for service notes a high volume of theft and burglaries reported, with at least 15 listed on the Daily Incident Report.

Marijuana was Monday’s drug of choice among the dope heads, with four arrests on possession charges, while two arrests were linked to possession of another drug, identified as meth in one of the cases. DWI’s were also low; two subjects were jailed on Monday for Driving While Intoxicated, one on a second charge, the other on a third.

Four assault calls and two suicidal subjects are listed in the report, as well as one suicide. The Incident report from the SAPD also shows 10 arrests for city warrants and two arrests for the county.

As with most days, there are those criminals who operate as if in one of those money blowing machines where you have to catch as much as you can, and this time around it was 49-year-old Rudolph Jacques Biera Jr.

Some of you may remember his handsome face from the SAPD’s most wanted recently, where he was being sought for an active warrant for Felony Harassment. When police caught Biera on Monday, he was charged with two counts of Bail Jumping and Failure to Appear, Driving While License Invalid, Assault with Bodily Injury, Burglary of a Vehicle and two counts of Harassment of a Public Servant.

Most of those he racked up back over the summer, but his rap sheet dates back as far as 1984 when Biera was only 20 and gave a false report to an officer. Since then he’s added a couple of assault charges, a a pair of DWI’s and miscellaneous theft, possession and driving-related charges. That’s a long list. We probably won’t be seeing him for a while.
