Two New Storage Unit Facilities Are Coming to San Angelo

SAN ANGELO, TX – Two new storage unit facilities will be coming soon to San Angelo after the city council approved plans during their regular meeting Tuesday.

During the San Angelo City Council Meeting, on Apr. 18, 2023, the council approved the construction and rezoning for two new storage unit facilities. Both of the units will be owned separately and are on completely different spots of town.

The first location is in the 2000 block of the Houston Harte. At this location a builder was looking into building a storage unit and a welding shop. The council discussed but, because of hopes of more appealing businesses moving into the area, denied the change for the shop. However the storage unit passed 5-2.

The second location is in one of loops busiest frontage road spots. The planning commission is asking that the council approve a zone change on the lot near the intersection of Melrose and Stratford. This location is steps away from the Creek 27 apartments and TLCA high school. For these units the council unanimously approved it.

The second location will be called X-Storage and is run out of Lubbock. The name and status of the first location is unknown since the welding shop was denied.
