As of 10:45 a.m., first responders were working to extract the passenger of the vehicle, who is located on the impact side.

Update 11:30 a.m.

Texas DPS Trooper Shawn Baxter released information on the crash this morning in a press release, which states that four individuals were injured in the wreck.

According to the release, Kerry Mark Rossen, 54 of Bronte, was driving a Volkswagen Jetta southbound on US 277 in a construction zone behind a Cadillac CTS driven by 43-year-old Ricardo Cortijo of San Angelo.

Cortijo had stopped on the roadway at a flagman, where the the roadway had been reduced to one lane due to construction. Rosson, distracted, did not see that Cartijo had stopped and continued driving, colliding with the rear end of the Cadillac and causing it to spin counterclockwise off the west side of the road before coming to rest in the bar ditch.

Rosson's vehicle spun clockwise after the collision, and came to a rest facing north in the northbound lane of 277.

Two passengers in the Cadillac, as well as the driver, were transported to Shannon with non-incapacitating injuries. Rosson was treated on scene by medics. He was cited for failure to control speed.
