Three Occupants At-Large After Fleeing Ford Expedition Before it Burst into Flames

A black Ford Expedition pulled into B&W Truck, Trailer and Machine Shop just before 5 p.m. today. It was smoking from under the hood. Two males and a female, all adults, exited the vehicle, witnesses say, and ran as the Ford burst into flames.

The entire engine compartment is practically gone. The seats inside are burned to their metal frames, and the driver’s door appears to be melted shut.

Angelo State University intramural flag football teams IM Legends and Wolfpac both finished as national runners up at the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) National Campus Championship Series national championships earlier this month at the University of West Florida in Pensacola.

The San Angelo Police Department continues the search for runaway Briana Esquivel.   Briana was last seen by her family at 4:30 a.m. Jan. 21 at her residence on Chestnut Street.  Before leaving, Briana left a note to her family stating her intentions of leaving the home.  Along with the note, Briana also packed her personal belongings, further indicating her desire to leave.

Police: Unlicensed, Uninsured Driver Runs Red Light, Sends Two to Hospital

An unlicensed and uninsured driver of a red Ford Explorer totaled a silver Mitsubishi Eclipse on the frontage road to the westbound side of the Houston Harte Expressway at Howard Street Tuesday afternoon, police said.

According to what witnesses told police, the Explorer had a red light, but disregarded it. Meanwhile the Eclipse was traveling through the intersection on green.

The driver of a yellow Suzuki motorcycle that was involved in a high-speed chase on Monday has been identified as 21-year-old Dallas Leeland Gray.

Texas Leads 26-State Coalition Suing Obama Over Executive Amnesty

AUSTIN – Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton today announced that Tennessee and Nevada have officially joined the multi-state coalition led by Texas fighting President Obama’s illegal attempt to unilaterally grant amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants. The addition of these two states brings the total to 26, representing more than half the states in the Union.

Man on Mom's Crotch Rocket Leads San Angelo Police on High-Speed Chase

A crotch rocket motorcycle driver led the San Angelo police on a high-speed chase Monday afternoon.

A 21-year-old male, police said, was driving the yellow Suzuki crotch rocket that was owned by his stepmother. He was captured at Johnston Street at Douglas after wiping out. Police said that the driver downshifted too quickly, locked up the front wheel’s brake and threw himself forward and off the bike.

Police Investigate 21 Auto Burglaries Committed Over Weekend

San Angelo Police are investigating a rash of vehicle burglaries that took place between Thursday, Jan. 22 and Monday, Jan. 26.

At the moment, detectives are looking into 21 total auto burglaries, and are investigating whether or not the incidents are related. So far, the majority of incidents appear to have occurred in unlocked vehicles.

DPS Trooper Seizes over $96,000 in Drugs

AMARILLO-- The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) conducted a traffic stop Sunday on IH-40, yielding 25 pounds of marijuana valued at over $90,000 along with 12 ounces of hashish with a value over $6,000.

Fire Marshal Investigates Early Morning Arson

A vehicle fire that broke out early this morning near the Arden Arms apartment complex in the 3700 block of Arden Road is being investigated as an arson, San Angelo Fire Marshal Ross Coleman said.

The fire, which was reported at approximately 3:06 a.m., involved a silver Mistibushi Eclipse and was initially called in as a structure fire, Coleman said.

The Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office apprehended a Fort Stockton man transporting a pound of pot on Saturday, when a deputy pulled the man over for speeding and was met with the scent of marijuana.

Man Jailed for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child Over Weekend

A 58-year-old man was picked up by the San Angelo Police Department on Friday on a warrant out of Hamilton County for aggravated sexual assault of a child. Theron Glenn Bennet was booked into the Tom Green County Jail at 2:35 a.m. on Friday and is currently being held in lieu of a $10,000 surety bond. View Friday's full boking report here.

The Four Most Interesting Indictments from this Month's Tom Green County Grand Jury Session

A Tom Green County grand jury met for one day this month, handing down 57 felony indictments on a variety of charges to individuals in the area.

Of those charged, 31 warrants have been issued and many have criminal histories in the county.
