Glen Book, 64, of Miles, Texas passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2016 in San Angelo.
Born in San Angelo, Texas, he was the second child of Alice and Richard Book.
Glen was a graduate of Miles High School and attended Sul Ross University and Angelo State University. He was a career farmer who took pride in his ability to turn dirt into a profitable harvest, and he was especially good with farm animals. Glen understood well the values of hard work, land, and rural Texas towns. A parishioner of St. Thomas Catholic Church, faith played an important role in his life. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, crafting many gifts for friends and family through the years.
Glen is survived by his parents; his sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Don Rauschuber; his nephew and wife, Eric and Lisa Rauschuber; his niece and husband, Melissa and Jason McGlashan; and five great nieces and nephews, Madison Rauschuber, Shelby Rauschuber, Kendall Rauschuber, Jack McGlashan, and Owen McGlashan.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rose and Edward Glass and Helen and John Book.
Visitation will be from 6-7pm with a rosary at 7p.m., Thursday, April 14, 2016 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Miles, Texas. The Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Miles, Texas on Friday, April 15, 2016 at 10a.m. Interment will follow at Miles Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to St. Thomas Catholic Church or Hospice of San Angelo.
