The race to become San Angelo's next Police Chief saw its candidates, Travis Griffith, Mike Hernandez, and Chris Cimino, presenting their platforms at the Tea Party Candidate Forum on Tuesday, March 13.

The March 5 Primary saw a very close race for the County Commissioner Precinct 1 position. 

The district attorney criticized for tardiness in indicting criminals and unresponsiveness to inquiries suffered a resounding defeat in Tuesday's Republican Primary. Laurie K. English, the 112th District Attorney of Ozona, faced significant backlash for the lengthy delay in indicting the coyote accused of recklessly running through an Ozona stoplight, resulting in a collision with a pickup truck driven by Maria Tambunga, who was accompanied by her 7-year-old granddaughter Emilia, tragically leading to their deaths in March 2023.

SAN ANGELO, TX — Three west Texas congressmen panned President Joe Biden's State of the Union address delivered Thursday night. All three took Biden to task for a disastrous regarding the U.S.-Mexico border, especially Rep. Tony Gonzales (CD-23) who represents a district that incorporates nearly 900 miles of the border.

President Biden discussed his radical priorities including: endless American dollars to left wing priorities, abortion up until the point of birth, COVID-19, climate change, and pornographic books in schools.

SAN ANGELO, TX — Representative Drew Darby won re-election to the Texas House of Representatives Tuesday night, beating his, Stormy Bradley, challenger with over 56% of the vote across House District 72, including garnering 60% in six of the ten counties in the district.

The Tom Green County Republican Chair was contested before Super Tuesday between Ruth Station and Bruce Burkett.

Drew Darby of San Angelo defeated Abbott-backed challenger Stormy Bradley by a commanding 20%, while Stan Lambert of Abilene secured a six-point win over Liz Case.

SAN ANGELO, TX — Last night, the suspense at Drew Darby's victory celebration persisted until campaign manager Laramie Stroud revealed that with only 3,000 ballots remaining uncounted in Tom Green County, Darby's lead was insurmountable for challenger Stormy Bradley. The announcement came at 11 p.m., sealing Darby's victory.

This year's primary election runs from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. today.
