Tonight's Lottery Drawing Is...One Billlllion Dollars

AUSTIN, TX — The Mega Millions jackpot has soared to an estimated $1.13 billion, marking the fifth-largest prize in the game's history and the seventh-largest in U.S. lottery history.

This comes after no participants won the grand prize in Friday night's drawing. However, a ticket sold south of Austin at Refuel on FM 1327 in Creedmore has made one lucky winner a millionaire.

The winning ticket was selected through a quick pick and is among six nationwide winners to claim at least $1 million from the same draw.

Other $1 million prizes were awarded to tickets in California, Florida, Illinois, and Nebraska, which all matched the five white ball numbers. Additionally, a Virginia ticket won $2 million by matching the Megaplier.

Tuesday's drawing's significant jackpot increase to $1.1 billion follows the absence of a grand prize winner since December 8, 2023.

The record for the largest U.S. lottery jackpot remains at $2.04 billion, won by a Powerball ticket in California on November 8, 2022.

The odds of clinching the Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 302,575,350.

The game's drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. Eastern Time. The current cash prize option for Tuesday is $537.5 million.

The winning numbers for the March 22, 2024, draw were 3-8-31-35-44, with a 16 Mega Ball and 3x MegaPlier.
