ARLINGTON— The Dallas Cowboys committed the 2024 NFL Draft to fixing the offensive and defensive lines.
The Cowboys spent five of eight picks on the big guy up front starting with first round pick, Oklahoma tackle Tyler Guyton.
In the second round, the Cowboys selected Marshawn Kneeland, a defensive end out of Western Michigan. With DeMarcus Lawrence already 32 and the only real depth at edge being Sam Williams, Chauncey Gholston, and Viliami Fehoko Jr., the Cowboys needed another defensive end.
The Cowboys had two picks in the third round after making the trade back with Detroit this year and selected Kansas State interior offensive lineman Cooper Beebe and Notre Dame linebacker Marist Liufau.
Dallas did not have a pick in the fourth round as they traded for Trey Lance during the season last year.
In the fifth round, the Cowboys selected Caelen Carson out of Wake Forest. Then, in the sixth round, the Cowboys nabbed another weapon in wide receiver Ryan Flournoy.
With two picks in the seventh round, the Cowboys selected offensive tackle Nathan Thomas out of Louisiana State and Auburn defensive tackle Justin Rogers.
No, the Cowboys did not address the running back position in the draft but, on the Monday following the draft, did agree to a deal with former fourth overall pick Ezekiel Elliott to a one-year deal.
