WATCH: Three Tom Green County Constables Running for Reelection

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – Three of the four Tom Green County Constables announced Friday morning they would be running for reelection in the March Republican primary. 

Pct. 4 Constable Randy Harris, Pct. 1 Constable Mike Magee and Pct. 2 Constable Deen Dickson were surrounded by family, friends and supporters for the announcement on the steps of the Tom Green County Courthouse.

Pct. 3 Constable James Smith was in attendance Friday morning but has not formally announced a decision.  

Pct. 3 Deputy Constable Mark Whitaker announced earlier his campaign for Pct. 3 Constable in the Republican Primary. 

A Constable in Texas is a licensed peace officer and serves warrants and civil papers such as subpoenas and temporary restraining orders.

Constables also serve as bailiff for Justice of the Peace Court and they can also issue traffic citations. 

Constables are elected to four year terms. 

There are 28 elected officials in Tom Green County and they are all Republicans.  

The primary election is Tuesday, March 3, 2020.  The winners of the primary elections in March run in the general election on November 3, 2020.
