Huge Reward Offered For Information in Brutal Murder

ODESSA, TX – After being shot outside of his home two months ago the suspect responsible for Brandon Swinney’s death is still at large.

According to CBS7, Odessa Crime Stoppers announced that the community came together to raise $20,000 as a reward for anyone who can provide information that leads to an arrest in the case. At the time of the murder, a $1,000 reward was offered as an incentive for people who may have information about the incident. The reward has an expiration date and anyone with information is urged to come forward as soon as possible.

"The task that I would like to pose to the community is put yourself in their position. You would want someone to come forward and give that information that solves this crime if it was your family," said Odessa Police Chief Michael Gerke.

Swinney is survived by his wife and two children, a 10-year-old son and a four-month-old daughter, as well as his parents. The Swinney family told local media that the gunman had been hiding right outside his door. When Swinney pulled into his home on his motorcycle, the gunman then walked around the corner and shot him in the chest. Swinney’s family heard the incident from inside the house but did not see the suspect.

"If anyone knows anything, please speak up. Please call Crime Stoppers. Please call the detective. Please just say something. Everybody is hurting right now," said Samantha Swinney, Brandon's widow.

To be eligible for the additional rewards, you must contact Odessa Crime Stoppers through their tip line at (432) 333-TIPS or by using their online app.
