Police: Thief Who Faked Working Out to Steal Arrested

ABILENE, TX-- Abilene Police say they have arrested a man believed to have stolen from an Abilene gym while faking to work out, according to a report from KTXS.

Nathan Lee Couger, 29, of Lawn, was identified by police "thanks to the numerous tips we received," according to authorities.

Couger has been charged with theft.

Police and Abilene Crime Stoppers released surveillance video from The Performance Lab on Tuesday. The video showed the thief "pretending" to work out, according to the report.

“He clearly has no interest or knows how to work out," said police. "His sole purpose in the gym is to steal other people’s property."

The video shows the thief putting down weights and crawling across the floor to grab a backpack.
