UPDATE: SAPD Confirms Cyclist Hospitalized After Crashing Into Trailer

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – The San Angelo Police Department has confirmed that a 52-year-old cyclist was hit by an SUV pulling a trailer Tuesday morning.

As previously reported, on January 7, officers with the SAPD were dispatched to the corner of Knickerbocker and W. Ave. Q for the report of a pedestrian versus vehicle crash. Here is the original story:POLICE: Pedestrian Hit by SUV Pulling Trailer

Now the SAPD has confirmed that the pedestrian hit was a 52-year-old woman riding a bicycle.

"Around 10 a.m. San Angelo police were dispatched to W. Ave. Q and Knickerbocker Rd. for the report of a traffic collision involving a pedal cyclist and a utility trailer." said the SAPD press release. "The pedal cyclist, a 52-year-old San Angelo woman, was transported to San Angelo Community Medical Center with non-incapacitating injuries."

After a preliminary crash investigation, the officers learned that the pedal cyclist was traveling northbound on S. Bryant Blvd. when she disregarded the traffic signal and collided with an in-tow utility trailer that was eastbound on West Avenue Q.
