Texting Toyota Driver Trashes 2015 Ford F-150 With Dealer Tags

A Toyota 4-Runner, with a driver who police say was texting, slammed into the rear of a parked, brand new 2015 Ford F-150 with the dealer tags still on the truck. The crash happened in the 2900 block of Southland Blvd. at 7:21 p.m. this evening.

According to investigator Sgt.. Travis Griffith of the San Angelo Police Department, the impact of the crash pushed the Ford forward the distance of approximately two house lots. Also destroyed in the crash was a resident’s mailbox (see last pic above).

Griffith said that the driver was cited for Failure to Control Speed.

The new F-150 was owned by a family who was visiting their parents on Southland for dinner. They said this day, they took a little longer than usual for dinner when they suddenly heard a horrendous sound outside. “They usually leave sooner. If only they had left 30 minutes earlier,” the mother of the new Ford owners said.
