SAN ANGELO, TX — Downtown San Angelo, Inc. will unveil “Juanita,” the newest addition to the city’s Sheepctacular Art Project, during a public event on Nov. 20 at 4 p.m. at St. Juanita Retirement & Rehab, 3215 YMCA Drive.
The unveiling is open to the public and will include refreshments provided by the facility’s dietary department.
Painted by Chrystal Goodman, Juanita is a "colorful reflection of the facility's mission to create a lively, connected, and welcoming space for residents and the community alike."
Goodman's art, featured throughout St. Juanita's hallways, has helped transform the new facility into a vibrant and inspiring environment that mirrors the spirit of those who call it home, information from Downtown San Angelo states.
"St. Juanita Retirement & Rehab believes their sheep, Juanita, represents an opportunity to connect with the San Angelo community and raise the bar for long-term care in the area," information states. "The organization is passionate about bringing the community into the building through volunteerism and activities that keep their residents engaged as active members of San Angelo. They want people to be excited to live, work, and volunteer here, and Juanita is the perfect mascot for that mission."
As the newest long-term care facility in Texas, St. Juanita Retirement & Rehab offers a modern approach to senior living with private showers, a "top-quality" menu, a theatre room, custom murals on every hallway, a beautiful chapel, an in-house beauty shop, and a state-of-the-art rehabilitation gym.
Community members are encouraged to stop by, take a tour, or join the waitlist through the St. Juanita website. The facility is currently hiring for multiple positions and accepting new residents from the waitlist.
