SAN ANTONIO, TX — The son of Tejano singer Michael Salgado has been arrested after he allegedly lifted his girlfriend by the neck and choked her against a refrigerator.
According to KSAT, 27-year-old Michael Anthony Salgado attacked the mother of his child after he accused her of infidelity on Monday.
The victim told police that Salgado had demanded to see her cellphone and when she refused, he pulled her by the hair, knocked her to the floor, and then lifted her up by the neck and impeded her breathing while holding her against the refrigerator.
Salgado then smashed her cellphone, but she was able to activate another cellphone and call the police as she escaped the home with her child.
Salgado was arrested on Thursday around 11:00 a.m. and charged with a third-degree felony, strangulation of a family member.
