Deputy Under Fire for "Troubling" Facebook Post

SAN ANTONIO, TX — After posting “troubling” posts on Facebook regarding the protests and riots going on in the city, a Bexar County Sheriff’s Office has been placed on administrative leave.

According to KSAT, the deputy, who has not been identified, published posts that mentioned killing people who are “rioting, looting, attacking innocent people, and burning the city down.”

Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar confirmed the deputy has been stationed at the Bexar County Jail without public interaction. The deputy’s peace officer’s license has been withdrawn pending a full investigation by internal affairs. The deputy’s badge, credentials, and county property were turned in to the sheriff’s office.

“Obviously, those found committing illegal activities do face arrest, but the notion of killing anyone without justification is ludicrous,” said Salazar. “The BCSO will continue to support and protect peaceful protests.”

According to Salazar the deputy’s status will remain in place until the investigation is completed and the discipline is administered. The deputy could face termination.

“Misconduct will not be tolerated and will continue to be dealt with efficiently and effectively.”
