Anson Chief of Police Resigns After Sending Inappropriate Messages

 

ANSON, TX – Anson Chief of Police David Moore resigned Monday while city council members deliberated whether they should fire him or take disciplinary action against him.

Moore admitted he sent an inappropriate text message to a female city employee.

The Anson City Council is debating the future of the city’s police chief.

The City Manager, Sonny Campbell told KTXS that “an inappropriate phone text, and Facebook message, was sent to some employees, that resulted in a complaint being filed against the Police Chief Moore.

One of the last items on Monday night’s agenda read “discuss, discipline, or dismissal of an employee, namely the Chief of Police.

The discussion was deliberated in executive session Monday night at 6:00 p.m.
