Duncanville's Ja'Quinden Jackson Officially Ruled Out of Saturday's Championship

ARLINGTON, TX — When Ja'Quinden Jackson went down last Saturday, fans, coaches, and players alike feared the 4-star quarterback had torn his left ACL.

That fear became a reality Wednesday.  On the same morning Jackson officially signed with the Texas Longhorns, Duncanville Head Coach Reginald Samples addressed the crowd and confirmed the ACL tear.

Not only will Jackson miss his final high school game, but he will miss an opportunity to avenge last year's hail mary loss to Galena Park North Shore.  In that game, the 6'2", 220 pound Jackson had 226 rushing yards and the go ahead touchdown with just over a minute to play.

The rest of that game went down in Texas football history with North Shore escaping 41-36 on a 45 yard throw as time expired.

Jackson led a loaded Panther team back to a 15-0 record and the championship game this year.  He had 1,711 yards 21 touchdowns in the air in addition to 1,030 yards and 16 rushing TD's.

Freshman Chris Parson, who received a scholarship offer from Kansas this week, will make his first start.  He played well in his 30 minutes against Rockwall, but North Shore is a different animal.

Kickoff for the 6A DI Championship is set for Saturday at 3:00 in AT&T Stadium.
