Water Valley Falls to Round Top-Carmine in State Semi-Finals

 

GARLAND, TX -- The Water Valley Lady Cats were taken down after a long run in the playoffs this afternoon. The 3-1 defeat was handed to them by the Round Top-Carmine. 

The first set of the game went well for the Lady Cats as they were able to win 25-22. 

The second set was the worst for Water Valley as they were only to able to put up 18 points. 

The third set was still a five point win for Carmine as they scored 25. 

The fourth and final set looked much as the third set and at one point the Lady Cats trailed by 5. They were able to make a comeback to bring the game to a tie at 24. The Lady Cats ended up losing 26-24. 

This is the second straight year for Water Valley to go to the state championship tournament. 

Carmine will continue their run towards the state championship tomorrow against Neches at 3:00 p.m.
