Brady Goes Unbeaten While Other Area Teams Struggle at State 7-on-7

 

COLLEGE STATION, TX -- The first day of the State 7-on-7 tournament only saw one Concho Valley team go unbeaten, the Brady Bulldogs.

Brady won all three of their Division III pool play games to set up a meeting with East Bernard Friday morning in the championship bracket

The Bulldogs opened pool play with a 26-15 win over Arp. They followed that up with an 18-13 win over 2A power Wellington and a narrow 21-19 win over Falls City.

It was a struggle for most of the other Concho Valley teams. The other four teams went a combined 1-11 on the first day of the tournament.

The Ballinger Bearcats were the only other team to pick up a win on Thursday. They beat Sonora 13-12 after back-to-back losses to Wichita Falls City View and Poth to open pool play.

Ballinger will face Alpine in the championship bracket on Friday. Sonora will face Dublin.

Eldorado suffered losses to Alpine, Buffalo and Dublin in Pool G. Ozona lost to Flatonia, Palmer and Hearne.

Eldorado will face City View on Friday. Ozona will face Daingerfield.

The games for the championship bracket start at 8:00 a.m. on Friday.
