Central's Davis Named THSCA President-Elect Nominee

SAN MARCOS, TX -- San Angelo Central's head football coach is once again among the finalists for the presidency of the Texas High School Coaches Association.

Brent Davis is one of the three finalists the THSCA named today on their Twitter page. Also named was Midlothian Heritage's Lee Wiginton and Longview's John King.

The trio has won a combined 484 games in a combined 57 years of coaching.

Central's Davis has the most wins out of the three with a record of 184-92-1 as a head coach. Davis, who is entering his 25th year as a head coach, has spent the most time as a head coach as well.

King led Longview to their first state championship since 1937 with a win over Beaumont West Brook in the Class 6A Division II title game in 2018. Midlothian Heritage went 11-2 this last season under Wiginton.

Davis was a finalist for the 2018-2019 school year, but lost out to Rockwall's Rodney Webb.

The new president will be announced at the THSCA Coaches' Convention in Houston, which begins on July 20.
