SAN ANGELO, TX -- Once again, Mason High School can claim they are the best in the state after repeating as UIL Lone Star Cup champions following the final standings release on Friday, June 14.

Mason scored 76 points in the competition that scores points based off academic and athletic success. They finished eight points ahead of Sundown for the 2A title.

Mason was undoubtedly helped by their 2018 state football championship, the Punchers' second in school history. That title run scored 14 points for Mason in the competition.

They were also helped by the Cowgirls' state semifinal run in basketball and the Punchers' regional semifinal run in baseball.

It's the second time in school history that Mason has won the title.
