Heuertz Named District 4-3A MVP After Leading Wall to First State Title

SAN ANGELO, TX -- After the program's first state baseball title, the Wall Hawks dominated the All-District 4-3A honors.

A total of 14 Hawks were honored in the selections. The second-most was Reagan County with nine. Brady and Sonora each had eight.

Leading the way for Wall was junior Caleb Heuertz, who was named the district MVP after guiding Wall to an undefeated regular season for the first time in program history.

Heuertz was instrumental in Wall's historic season. He hit .462 on the year with a team-high 68 RBIs and nine home runs. On the mound, the junior was a perfect 13-0 in 14 games with a 1.25 ERA in 72.1 innings pitched for the Hawks.

Wall's Kye Herbert was name the district Newcomer of the Year after being a pest at the top of the order for Wall. The sophomore hit .347 for the Hawks with an on-base percentage of .456 in his first year on varsity.

Brady picked up a pair of superlatives with junior Walker Bauer being named Offensive MVP and Kasen Baronet being named Pitcher of the Year. They helped the Bulldogs back to the playoffs in their first year in the new district.

Defensive MVP honors went to Reagan County senior Pablo Hernandez. He also led Reagan County back to the playoffs after a second place finish in District 4-3A.
