State Baseball Tournament Pairings: No. 1 Wall Knows Semifinal Foe

 

AUSTIN, TX -- The top-ranked Wall Hawks now know who they will face this upcoming week at the University Interscholastic League state baseball tournament.

Wall (37-1) will be the top seed in the final four in Class 3A with the highest win percentage. They'll face Kirbyville (33-7-1) who comes in with the second most wins of the four teams. They'll square off Friday, June 7, at 9:00 a.m. from Dell Diamond in Round Rock.

Kirbyville advanced to the state tournament with a sweep of Central in the Region III final.

The other semifinal will pit Blanco (32-4) and Van Alstyne (29-5) against each other. They will meet the same day at noon from Dell Diamond, the home of the Houston Astros' Triple-A affiliate Round Rock Express.

Blanco advanced by sweeping the Region IV series with Bishop. Van Alstyne was forced to go to a game three with Harmony.

The Class 3A state championship is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. Saturday, June 8, from Dell Diamond.
