Baseball Playoff Pairings: The Teams Set to Take the Field in the Postseason

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- The UIL baseball playoffs start this week and the Concho Valley will have 11 representatives.

Ballinger and Sonora will close out a tight race in District 4-3A when they square off for the third time this season to decide who's going to be the fourth seed for the district. Sonora was in a similar situation last year, but narrowly missed out on the playoffs after losing a play-in game to TLCA.

Wall finished the season 28-0 and with their third straight district championship. The Mason Punchers also claimed the District 29-2A title.

Here are the bi-district playoff pairings for the Concho Valley:

Class 6A

  • Central (21-12-1) vs Arlington Lamar (16-12): Game 1: Central 10, Lamar 0; Game 2: May 3, 4:00 p.m., Arlington Lamar; Game 3: 30 minutes after Game 2.

Class 3A

  • Wall 12, Crane 2
  • Reagan County (17-8) vs Tornillo (11-12-1): Game 1: Reagan County 3, Tornillo 0; Game 2: May 3, 5:00 p.m.; Game 3: 30 minutes after Game 2 (if nec.). All games at Fort Stockton.
  • Brady (14-11-1) vs Presidio (9-10): Game 1: Brady 16, Presidio 1; May 3, 4:00 p.m.; Game 3: 30 minutes after Game 2 (if nec.). All games at Monahans
  • Sonora (14-8) vs Alpine (13-8): Game 1: May 3, 4:00 p.m.; Game 2: 20 minutes after Game 1; Game 3: May 4, 1:00 p.m. All games at Crane

Class 2A

  • Ozona (16-7)- Bye
  • Eldorado (9-11)- Bye
  • Haskell 9, Winters 7; Haskell 13, Winters 6 (Haskell advances 2-0)
  • Miles (13-13) vs Hawley (16-10-1): Game 1: May 3, 5:00 p.m.; Game 2: May 4, 1:00 p.m.; Game 3: 30 minutes after Game 2 (if nec.). All games in Hermleigh.
  • Christoval vs Forsan: Game 1: May 3, 2:00 p.m., Forsan; Game 2: 30 minutes after Game 1; Game 3: TBA (if nec.)
  • Mason 8, Charlotte 1; Mason 4, Charlotte 1 (Mason advances 2-0)
