Garden City Girls Up to No. 4, Veribest Out in Latest State Rankings

SAN ANGELO, TX -- The Texas Association of Basketball Coaches created a bit of a shakeup with their latest girl's basketball rankings, which were released on Monday.

The Veribest Lady Falcons (19-6, 8-2) were ranked 20th in Class 1A. After a loss to Robert Lee on Tuesday and a 12-point win over Bronte on Friday, the Lady Falcons fell out of the rankings on Monday. They will hope to bounce back when they travel to Water Valley this Friday.

Garden City (25-3, 6-0) had held steady at no. 7 in the weekly rankings over the last couple of weeks. They moved up to no. 4 in this week's rankings after a pair of wins over Borden County and Lamesa Klondike. The Lady Bearkats can clinch the District 8-1A title with a win over Sands on Tuesday.

After both Class 2A no. 3 Mason (29-1, 5-0) and 3A no. 1 Wall (24-1, 10-0) won all of their games last week, they held their respective spots.
