WACO, TX-- The no.1-ranked Mason Punchers take on the San Augustine Wolves in Waco for the right to go to the Class 2A Division I state championship at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

Below, we will provide up-to-the-minute coverage for the state semifinal for the game scheduled at 7:30 p.m.

First Quarter

Mason defers the their option. San Augustine will receive.

10:20- Mason forces a three-and-out. Ball at own 40.

4:51- Mason strikes first. Jake Cockerham caps off a 60-yard drive with a 1-yard TD run. Mason 6-0 San Augustine

3:29- San Augustine fake punt fumbled and Mason recovers on SA’s 43.

1:39- San Augustine calls timeout after Cockerham gets the ball to the Wolves 4.

1:34- Klay Klaerner gets in on the action with a 4-yard TD run. Otto Wofford finds Chandler Buntyn for the 2-point conversion. Mason 14-0

1:31- Mason recovers the onside kick on their own 49.

1:00- Klaerner fumbles at SA’s 3 and the Wolves recover.

Quarter Ends- Kevorion Barnes gets San Augustine out to their own 8. Facing 3rd and 5

Second Quarter

11:32- Wolves go 3 and out but pin Mason on own 26. Wofford throws an interception and San Augustine in business at own 44.

7:50- San Augustine calls a timeout after a holding call makes it 2nd and 20 from Mason’s 32. Tijay Thomas can’t hit his receiver on 2nd, but picks up 17 on 3rd and 20

5:20- San Augustine calls their final timeout of the half facing 4th and 4 at the 4 of Mason trailing 14-0.

5:13- Tijay Thomas gets dropped for a 2-yard loss by Jake Cockerham on 4th down and Mason gets the ball back.

2:33- Klaerner makes it a 3-score game with a 3-yard touchdown run around the left side. PAT good. Mason 21-0

2:17- Mason recovers an onside at SA 41. Klaerner goes 41 the next play to make it 28-0

1:59- San Augustine fumbles and Mason recovers at Wolves 19. Cockerham goes 19 yards for their third consecutive score from scrimmage

Half Ends- San Augustine absolutely destroyed by Mason in that half

Third Quarter

7:38- Mason has methodical drive going. Eight plays so far, 4 minutes 22 seconds off the clock. Klay Klaerner has been ruthless running the ball.

5:49- Klay Klaerner gets his fourth score of the game on a 7-yard run up the middle. PAT good. Mason up 42-0.

4:11- Mason forces a turnover on downs after tackling DelMarquise Barnes on a 1-yard gain on 4th-and-5. Ball at SA 44

Quarter Ended- Mason chews up most of the 3rd quarter clock. Punchers riding backup fullback Jase Eckert and Chandler Buntyn down to SA's 10 for 2nd-and-1 to begin 4th quarter.

Fourth Quarter

11:21- Eckert gets his first touchdown of the season on an 8-yard run to pad the lead for Mason. PAT good. Mason up 49-0.

7:07- After a 7-yard punt by San Augustine to the SA 29, Mason's drive stalled at the 25. Kyle Montoya drilled a 42-yard field goal to put Mason up 52-0.

2:41- San Augustine gets on the board with an 11-yard pass from DelMarquise Barnes to Justin Jenkins for the touchdown. Kevorion Barnes plunges in for the 2-point conversion. 52-8 Mason

0:14- Mason punts it away. Klaerner with a 74-yard touchback.

FINAL- Mason wins 52-8 to advance to the Class 2A Division I state championship. They will face the New Deal Lions at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 20.
