Heavy Rain Forces Eldorado to Move Location of Homecoming Game

ELDORADO, TX-- Friday will be the Eldorado Eagle's homecoming game against the Winters Blizzards. It just won't be at Larry Mitchel Stadium.

Instead, the Eagles and Blizzards will play at Old Bobcat Stadium in San Angelo, as first reported by the Eldorado Success and confirmed by San Angelo Live.

Eldorado and all of Schleicher County have been slammed by the slow-moving cool front. On Wednesday, Eldordado received roughly three inches of rain with more falling on Thursday.

That rain has made the grass playing surface at Larry Mitchel Stadium unsafe, forcing the location change.

The rain has also washed out RM 915 at the Irion County line, according to a Facebook post by the Schleicher County Sheriff's Office. The road will stay closed through the weekend, SCSO also said.

Eldorado and Winters will still play at their scheduled time of 7:30 p.m.
