Bobcats' Season Ends in the First Round of Playoffs

 

GRAND PRAIRIE, TX-- The Central Bobcats saw their season come to a close after getting swept in a best-of-three, Bi-District series with South Grand Prairie on Friday.

 The Bobcats dropped a pitchers duel 3-2 in the first game of their doubleheader today before dropping the second game 4-0.

In game one, the Bobcats and Warriors held each other scoreless across the first three frames.

Central senior Johnathan Limon pitched a phenomenal six-and-a-third innings where he allowed three runs on seven hits with five strikeouts.

South Grand Prairie opened the scoring in the fourth inning with three runs.

 The Bobcats countered that with two runs in the bottom sixth. Jonathan Limon came home to score on a ground-out from Cole Nelson to open the scoring for the Bobcats. A Rance Rosas line-drive single would bring in Blake Mikeska.

Rosas led the Bobcats offensively in the first game by going 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI.

The bats went quiet for the Bobcats in game two, however, as the Bobcats could muster up just three hits.

South Grand Prairie spread out their four runs with one run coming in the bottom of the first inning, two runs in the fifth inning and their final run in the sixth..

Trey Neslage was on the hook for the Bobcats after going five-and-a-third innings and allowing four runs on four hits. Mikey Cruz came on in the sixth inning to record two outs of scoreless baseball where the Warriors notched one hit.

Nixon Brannon, Oscar Nino and Hayden Stevens each had one hit for the Bobcats in the second game.

The Bobcats finish the season 15-19 and as the third place team from District 8-6A.
