Late Midway Rally Downs Stymied Bobcats in Crucial Road District Game

WACO,TX-- The Central Bobcats led for the majority of the game against district-leading Waco Midway, but the Panthers were able to rally to steal a 4-1 victory in Waco on Tuesday.

The Bobcats tallied just three hits to go with their lone run.

Dylan Abbot, Blake Mikeska and Cole Nelson each had one hit for Central.

Abbot, who went 1-for-3 at the plate, tallied the only RBI for the Bobcats with a single to score Oscar Nino in the second inning.

After five innings of scoreless baseball, the Panthers rallied for four runs on four hits in the sixth inning to take the 4-1 lead.

Central was stymied to the tune of 10 strikeouts by Panther pitching.

Micheal Cruz got the loss after allowing three runs for Central despite going five strong innings where he struck out five.

The Bobcats (11-17, 5-4) will host Midway on Friday at 6 p.m. at Donsky Field looking to salvage a series split and move out of a two-way tie for third place with Killeen Ellison.
