City Seeking Public Input on New Capital Improvement Plan

SAN ANGELO, TX – The City of San Angelo is asking for the public’s input for the 2020-2025 Capital Improvement Plan.

The plan prioritizes how the City addresses large capital needs. Citizens can provide input on projects they believe should be included or prioritized in the new plan. The feedback will help the City Council in considering and passing the 2020-25 Capital Improvement Plan.

Citizens can share their thoughts via a short online form posted on the City’s website at cosatx.us/CIPInput. The survey will be open from March 5-24.

Once the City Council approves the plan, it will help inform decisions in the 2021 budget.

To be considered the projects must meet the following guidelines:

  • Projects must have a useful life of at least three years
  • Cost more than $25,000
  • Require at least six months to complete

There are currently 85 CIP projects that are either underway or proposed to begin by 2024.

The City Charter requires that a five-year CIP be published and available to citizens. The plan can be read in hard copy form at City Hall, 72 W. College Ave., or online at cosatx.us/cip.

For more information about the CIP or the input process, contact City Budget Manager Kimberly Holle at [email protected] or by calling 325-657-4211.
