SAN ANGELO, TX — The City’s Planning & Development Services Department is hosting a food truck forum Monday evening to gather input from vendors about possible changes in the rules regulating their ventures.
The last time the City held a food truck forum, many suspected news ordinances were in the works that would greatly curtail their chances for success. Minimal regulation happened following the forum.
Since the January forum, Lonestar Cheeseburger's Tim Condon, who owns and operates a food truck at the intersection of S. Abe. St and W. Beauregard Ave., was forced to prove his food truck's mobility to City health inspectors who enforce food truck rules. The latest food truck forum will be at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, at the McNease Convention Center, 501 Rio Concho Drive. The gathering will also be broadcast live on the City of San Angelo-Public Information Facebook page and on SATV, Suddenlink channel 17. Questions and comments will be fielded live during the meeting via the City’s Facebook page and @CityofSanAngelo on Twitter.
City officials will be on hand Monday evening to discuss potentially allowing food trucks to operate on some properties zoned for residential use. Those might include public parks, churches and schools. City planners are also considering changes that would allow food trucks to operate in other zones – such as office commercial and light manufacturing – and would extend the amount of time a truck could stay in the public right-of-way serving food.
“We want to partner with our local food trucks to help them access areas in a safe and forward-thinking manner,” said Aaron Vannoy, Planning & Development administrator. “We’re seeking to make our processes easier and more widely known. This conversation will help guide where and how food trucks can operate to the benefit of all.”
Officials from the City’s Planning & Development Services, Parks and Recreation, and Health Services departments will be available to answer questions and receive suggestions.

Again? Omg how about focus on water rates and staying in stage 1 all the time. And work on roads and get rid of Anthony Wilson and a few others that serve NO purpose but waste money and harass people For a joke of a town with 125,000+ people 50% are retired or base people that go out to eat ALOT. LEAVE THEM ALONE. How about use the waterlily park where that art(junk) is and they all park there? Or maybe let them park wherever they want and make some money? Condon and others spent a lot of money on a building that sat for 30 years? And still even after asbestos still pushed forward and the bs with the cactus statue still got place done you’d think the upper ups would be kissing his ass for one less eye sore I’m glad I’m moving away I hope the town runs out of water and the base closes. And non8 to12 million gallons of water from the glow in the dark water ain’t enough

Well, you got about 7000 or so trying to invade our country en masse, so yeah, send some food trucks down to feed them.
