SAN ANGELO, TX — Concho Valley Paws and the City of San Angelo is hosting a Lucky 13 Adoption Event tomorrow for Friday the 13th. From 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. all black dogs and cats are going to be up for adoption for only $13.
Thanks to a generous donor, people have the chance to have good luck and add a furry friend to the family. The event will be held at the San Angelo Animal Shelter, 3142 N US Highway 67.
On Saturday, there will also be a Low-Cost Spay & Neuter Voucher Sale where you can get cats spayed and neutered for $25 and dogs are $50. It is regularly $50 for cats and $85 for dogs to receive vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter, collar, and leash.
There will be an adoption event on Saturday at the animal shelter, as well, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

I'm a supporter of PAWS and most of their endeavors, but lending weight to a superstition which used to be, and is still sometimes correlated with animal abuse, cannot be the best idea. I do however, hope that every animal up for adoption will go to a loving home. If I didn't already have a colony of cats, I'd go adopt half a dozen myself.
