Dangerous Icy Roads and Frigid Temps Today

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Concho Valley today as areas of freezing drizzle and periods of light freezing rain will continue, leaving a glaze of ice on area roadways, including bridges and overpasses.

The areas affected include northern and central parts of West Central Texas. This includes Abilene, Sweetwater, San Angelo, Ballinger, Coleman and Brownwood.

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving. The latest road
conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.

The advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Sunday and Includes the cities of ROTAN, ROBY, SWEETWATER, STERLING CITY, ROBERT LEE, BRONTE, BALLINGER, WINTERS, MERTZON, SAN ANGELO, EDEN, HASKELL, THROCKMORTON, WOODSON, STAMFORD, ANSON, HAMLIN, ALBANY, ABILENE, CLYDE, BAIRD, CROSS PLAINS, COLEMAN, BROWNWOOD, BRADY, and SAN SABA
