Town Hall to Address Avenue P Flooding

The City of San Angelo will host a town hall meeting regarding flooding along Avenue P at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 4, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

A project is pending to divert stormwater away from Avenue P to mitigate flooding in the neighborhood. At the town hall meeting, City officials will update residents on the steps that remain for the project to proceed. The officials, including District 3 City Councilman Johnny Silvas and City Manager Daniel Valenzuela, will also answer citizens’ questions and respond to their concerns.

“We share homeowners’ concerns about the flooding that plagues the Avenue P neighborhood,” Valenzuela said. “We want to provide those residents as much information as we can on the City’s efforts and our plan to resolve that problem.”

The town hall meeting will be in the gymnasium at St. Mary’s, which is located at 7 W. Avenue N.
