Firefighters Battle Truck Fire on Twohig

A white 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 burst into flames Christmas Eve at noon. The truck was fully engulfed near the intersection of W. Twohig Avenue and Avenue N.

Firefighters responded quickly and put out the flames. The engine compartment appears to be where the fire originated.

Fire Investigator Thomas Truett with the San Angelo Fire Department said that he is reporting the cause as accidental, not arson. He said that the driver noticed smoke pouring out of the air conditioning vents in the cab of the truck. The driver pulled over to the side of the roadway and called 911. The truck is a total loss, Truett estimated. There were no injuries.
